Sespe Hot Springs - 18 Miles Roundtrip
Enjoy one of nature’s pristine and untouched sanctuaries located in the canyons of Los Padres National Forest! This is Southern California’s hottest hot spring, at the spring’s source the water comes out boiling! But don’t let that keep you from taking a dip! Sespe Hot Springs merges with a cold water creek so you can adjust the temperature to your liking.
Day one will not be too strenuous as we will cover walk through forest meadows followed by a descent into the canyon. Soak your legs in the natural hot springs while gazing at the stars. Day two is a fairly intense climb back up from the canyon floor but this trip is worth every step!
At the pre-trip class we will cover everything you need to know, preparing you to venture out into the wilderness on your own. Learn how to pack your backpack, choose a location and where to set up camp, what equipment to buy, water purification, how to navigate using topo maps and G.P.S. navigation in addition to tips on how to adapt to your environment, wilderness survival, and what to do in an emergency.
Dates Offered: April 4-5, 2009 | Nov. 17-18, 2009

Pyramid to Piru - 21 Miles
3-Day/ 2-Night Trip- Equipment Provided
Backpack from Pyramid Lake to Piru Lake along the scenic Piru Creek. Follow a creek ranging from 1-3 feet in depth along the unseen backcountry bordering Santa Clarita Valley. This trip gives you plenty of time to soak up the scenery and really dive into the elements! Though the trek is slightly downhill there are frequent river crossings, adding a variety of technical choices. You will find yourselves presented with the decision of crossing over the river or simply wading through it! Learn how to navigate using some of nature’s indicators as mountainous canyons (limiting your view) and a winding river can sometimes leave even the experienced hiker with a map disoriented.
Dates Offered: June 5-7
Price: $500.00 Per Person
Mt Cobblestone 6,954Ft.- 18 Miles of Mountainous Terrain
2-Day/ 1-Night Trip- Equipment Provided
Climb the highest peak visible from Santa Clarita! This is a difficult trip as you must traverse up and down mountain ridgelines before reaching the base of Mt. Cobblestone. At the summit there is a memorial that was bolted to a rock in 1960 that contains a book where you can be amongst the few to sign it! It is recommended that you are in good physical shape- able to carry 20-40 lbs of weight up relatively steep inclines.
Day 1 we will reach the base of Mt Cobblestone and set up camp. Day 2 we will not only conquer Mt. Cobblestone, but also Sewart Mountain (as our cars are parked on the top of Sewart Mountain).
